The BEST Academy of Atlanta partnered with multiple Atlanta non-profit organizations, including, Emerging 100 of Atlanta, The Collegiate 100, and the 100 Black Men of America in order to get established professionals to greet their students on their first day of school. According to ABC News, at least 70 people showed up to give the students some heartfelt salutations.
According to the school’s website “The mission of B.E.S.T. (Business, Engineering, Science and Technology) is to provide a caring, collaborative and rigorous single-gender environment where the community of learners empowers scholars to be college and career ready,”.
The school is equipped with a “$19 million state of the art facility” and has many extracurriculars and sports, including a fencing team. It has also had four Gates Millennium Scholars and six Posse scholars in the last 3 years.

The school is a single-gendered school, where only boys may attend. Each student is part of the “Manhood Development Initiative”, which seeks to make sure that the school “graduate[s] young men, who understand their calling as men in our community, nation and world”. It also offers a study abroad program for students in grades 8-12 to multiple Latin-American Countries.
With resources and the inspiration from interacting with professional, one can only assume that these kids will be looking forward to the school year and beyond.
