A young graduate’s trip to Greece has recently ended in horrible tragedy. Bakari Henderson, 22 years old, was working on his first photo shoot for his new clothing line. Bakari and his friends gathered at a local bar for a night of fun. Bakari was approached by another man. It was reported that Bakari and the man had gotten into a fight. The security guards from the bar asked him to leave. Upon leaving the bar, Bakari was attacked by ten individuals.
According to the Washington Post, The surveillance tapes of nearby shops show the fight was continued in the streets. It is reported that Bakari was surrounded by ten individuals, which included two bar employees. The surveillance footage shows them beating Bakari even after he was unconscious. The beating Bakari took ended up being fatal – he later died at the hospital.
Greek authorities notified the American Embassy late Friday morning of the young man’s tragic death. According to the State Department, eight of the men have been arrested – six Turkish tourists and one Greek man. There are no reports on the other two individuals or their whereabouts at this time.
Bakari graduated from the University of Arizona on a full scholarship. According to CNN, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Business Finance & Entrepreneurship.

“As you can imagine, our family is devastated by the recent loss of our beloved son Bakari Jaward Henderson. Bakari loved spending time with family and friends, traveling and meeting new people. He was a big thinker and enjoyed coming up with new business ventures. Bakari was an inspiration to all he met. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.”
